The roots of organized Anglicanism in Milton can be dated to 1844 when a travelling missionary was appointed by the Church Society of the Diocese of Toronto to serve parts of Halton & Wentworth Counties. A mission station was established in Milton and the original white clapboard church was opened in 1852. It was later moved back on the property to make way for the present English Gothic church built in 1895 from local limestone. The Governor General of Canada, the Earl of Aberdeen, laid the foundation stone of this second church in June 1895. In the early 2000s a major restoration was completed. Recently, the stained glass windows have been restored. The gardens surrounding the building encourage visitors to pause and reflect.
Grace Church welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in worship, fellowship and outreach. Come and worship with us! We are a Eucharistic community. The celebration of Word & Sacrament, wherein our Lord Christ is made present and known to us, is at the centre of all that we do.
